What is a juice cleanse?

A juice cleanse is a fast where you only drink raw, cold-pressed fruits and vegetable juices, along with plenty of water.  A cleanse gives your body a break from digesting complex and processed foods and help to flush out tons of toxins your body does not need.

What are the benefits of a Juice cleanse?

There are many!  From brighter skin to more energy.   Our bodies are used to breaking down and digesting food all day, everyday, for our entire lives.  Once in awhile it’s nice to give your body a breath by only consuming nutrient-rich fluids. The key to reaping the rewards is finding what works and doesn’t work, for you.

What should I do before/during/after a cleanse?

Before:  We have found that cleanses are most successful (and easiest) when you prepare your body a few days - even up to a week earlier by consuming a vegan (or mostly vegan diet).  This will help reduce the shock to your body with the change of diet.  Not sure what a vegan/vegetarian diet consists of?  Ask us, we are happy to share some tips and food ideas that are easy prepare and taste great.

Wir haben herausgefunden, dass Cleanses am erfolgreichsten und einfachsten sind, wenn man seinen Körper einige Tage bis zu einer Woche darauf vorbereitet. Eine vorhergehende vegane (oder fast vegane) Ernährung hilft, deinen Körper sanft auf die Fastenkur einzustellen und reduziert den „Diät-Schock“

During: We recommend starting your days with hot water and lemon to get your digestion on track.  Also drinking lots of water throughout the day will not only help to curb hunger but helps flush out additional toxins.  Drink your juices every 2 - 3 hours or when you feel hungry.  If you feel the need for exercise, take a walk or do a low intensity yoga class or work out.  Listen to your body and take it easy. Get plenty of rest and enjoy.

Wir empfehlen, während des Cleanses deine Tage mit warmem Wasser und Zitronensaft zu starten. Das bringt den Stoffwechsel in Schwung. Außerdem solltest du im Laufe des Tages möglichst viel stilles Wasser trinken. Das hilft nicht nur gegen Hungergefühle, sondern hilft auch, Toxine aus dem Körper zu spülen. Genieße die Säfte alle 2-3 Stunden oder wenn du ein Hungergefühl verspürst. Solltest du das Bedürfnis nach Bewegung haben, kannst du spazieren gehen, ein leichtes Workout oder Yoga machen. Vor allem aber solltest du dich entspannen und den Tag genießen. Hör auf deinen Körper und take it easy!

After: You may find yourself craving juices! Go ahead, treat yourself. Easing slowly back into solid foods (vegan/vegetarian if you can help it) proves to be the most successful.  Try to stick to eating clean all natural foods at least for a few day, but also feel free to live your life.

Es kann sein, dass du weiterhin Verlangen nach den Säften verspürst. Dann trink sie ruhig weiter und kehre nach dem Cleanse Schritt für Schritt wieder zu fester Nahrung zurück – wenn möglich zunächst vegan, das verspricht den größten Erfolg.  Versuche, beim Clean Eating zu bleiben und wenigstens für einige Tage nur natürliche, reine Lebensmittel zu essen.

How often can you cleanse?

As often as you like as like - juice cleanses are a great way to treat yourself.   
So oft man möchte!  Cleanses sind great, um sich selbst etwas Gutes zu tun.

How should I store my juices?

Store your juices in your refrigerator until you are ready to drink them.  
Bewahre den Saft bis zum Verzehr im Kühlschrank auf. 

Why cold-pressed juice?

There’s juice and then theres cold pressed juice.  The difference?  When fruits and vegetables are put through a cold-pressed juicer, the juice retains the maximum amount of vitamins, nutrients and taste.  Other forms of juicing overheat and oxidise the juice, resulting in nutrient loss in addition to a less palatable taste.  Our use of the freshest ingredients and hydraulic method of juice extraction provide the healthiest and tastiest juices to satisfy (almost) everyone.

Was ist der Unterschied zwischen Saft und kalt gepresstem Saft? Durch das Verfahren der Kaltpressung behält der Saft die maximale Menge an Vitaminen, Nährstoffen und Geschmack. Andere Formen der Saftgewinnung überhitzen und oxidieren den Saft, was zu Nährstoff- und Geschmacksverlust führt.

Why don’t we HPP-treat (High Pressure Processing) and/or Pasteurise our Juices?

At Vejuice we think fresh food should be just that - fresh and when you Pasteurise or HPP-treat juice you neutralises molecules that cause juice to spoil faster.  By Pasteurising or HPP-treating juice you extend the shelf life up to 45 days.  While these processes are beneficial to companies we want to do what’s most beneficial for our consumers.  We don’t HPP-treat or Pasteurise our juices and thus they only have a fresh shelf life up to 5 days.  So drink up!

Helpful hints whilst juicing:

  • Stay Hydrated.
    Drink plenty of water and Tea (preferably Green) in between each juice. 

  • Pamper and indulge yourself.  Try to avoid stressful situations and do what feels good to you.

  • Stay away from food temptations.  Avoid eating with groups, Food commercials, etc.

  • Get plenty of sleep - because your body is busy eliminating wastes, you may feel more tired.

  • Listen to your body. Everyone reacts differently to cleansing. Make sure you listen to what your body is telling you and take care.

  • Exercise.  Sweating will aid in the elimination of your toxins. Stick to light exercises such as yoga, walking or stretching.

  • Enjoy. A cleanse is something just for you and your body. Remember that and enjoy the process!
